Terms of Service

Last updated: 13 July 2026

These are the terms for using Flown and Found. They’re short because the deal is simple: it’s a free beta, use it honestly, and the photos belong to the photographers.

1. What Flown and Found is

Flown and Found lets you upload your flight logbook and finds photographs of the specific aircraft you flew, using the Planespotters.net photo database. It shows you thumbnails with photographer credit and links you to the original photo page.

Flown and Found is run by Christopher Trott, a sole trader in the United Kingdom.

2. This is a beta

Flown and Found is an early, free, validation-stage product. That means:

3. The free service can change or end

While in beta, the service is free. We may change what the free service includes, introduce limits, or withdraw the service entirely, at any time. If we ever shut down, we will give reasonable notice so you can note down anything you want to keep (your logbook data remains yours and deletable at all times, see the Privacy Policy).

4. Your account

Keep your login details to yourself and tell us if you think your account has been compromised. You’re responsible for what happens under your account. You must be 18 or over.

5. Your logbook data

You may only upload logbook data that is yours to upload: your own logbook, or one you have clear permission from the owner to upload. Your flight records remain your data. We claim no ownership of them and use them only to run the service, as described in the Privacy Policy.

6. The photos belong to the photographers

Every photograph you see through Flown and Found belongs to the photographer who took it. We do not host, own, or license these photos. We display thumbnails with attribution and link to the original source page on Planespotters.net.

You must not use Flown and Found to download, copy, republish, or commercially use any photograph. If you want to use a photo, follow the link and deal with the photographer or the source site on their terms. We are a discovery tool, not a photo library.

7. Acceptable use

Don’t:

We can suspend or close accounts that break these terms.

8. Liability

Flown and Found is a free beta service. To the fullest extent the law allows, we exclude liability for losses arising from your use of it, including inaccurate matches, downtime, or loss of data. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded (for example, for fraud). Practical translation: keep your original logbook; this service is a companion to it, not a replacement for it.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the product evolves. If we make meaningful changes, we’ll update the date at the top and flag it on the site. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. Nothing here removes protections you have as a consumer under applicable law.
